Frequently asked questions
Do I need to attest my documents for a Schengen visa?
Personal documents like marriage and birth certificates are usually required in attested form. Employment and bank documents are generally accepted as originals or stamped copies. Requirements vary by consulate, so confirm for your destination.
How many months of bank statements are required?
Most consulates ask for the last 3 to 6 months of personal bank statements, stamped by the bank.
Can someone sponsor my Schengen trip?
Yes. A sponsor can cover your trip — you’ll need a sponsorship letter plus the sponsor’s bank statements and proof of relationship.
Is a flight ticket required before the visa is approved?
Submit a confirmed flight reservation, not a purchased ticket, until your visa is granted. Buying the ticket beforehand is a common and avoidable risk.
